Workshop Description:
This workshop will provide a comprehensive refresher on the 8 phases of EMDR therapy, emphasizing the foundational principles of the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model.
While the focus will be on the 8 phases, the workshop will also address the significance of blocking beliefs that may arise during EMDR sessions. Participants will gain insights into identifying and addressing these beliefs to facilitate smoother processing. Additionally, through case examples and collaborative discussions, participants will brainstorm and refine their use of interweaves, enhancing their ability to support clients during challenging moments in therapy. Participants will have the opportunity to practice reprocessing a target memory in practicum, allowing them to practice utilizing interweaves and addressing any blocking beliefs that come up in real-time with the support of the facilitator. By the end of the workshop, attendees will leave with strengthened skills in addressing blocking beliefs, and effectively utilizing interweaves, equipping them to provide more effective support to their clients during EMDR therapy.
